65 M for the semantic Web

"Context awareness and multi sensorial interactions, adding more "intelligence": Most visible in the above examples of health and transport applications are the 'smart' shirt and the 'intelligent' symbols in the dashboards, for which new multi-modal interfaces and advanced interaction techniques need to be built. Interfaces and interaction are supported with 75 M€ of projects. In addition to that, more than 65 M€ are devoted to semantic Web and context based knowledge handling. This will enable the development of far more "intelligent" search engines and knowledge sharing tools that are based on content and context."

Spring Symposium on Semantic Web Services

The 2004 AAAI Spring Symposium Series will include a Semantic Web Services session.
I hope to be able to participate. I am thinking about writing something on the topic of "Ontologies that support service descriptions".

Editing OWL ontologies with Protege 2

I'm trying the alpha release of the ontology editor Protege 2.0. I am interested in the OWl plugin.
My idea is to create an OWL ontology for travel services based on the Open Travel Alliance XML scheme.

Workshop on Web Services and Agent-based Engineering

Papers from the AAMAS'03 Workshop on Web Services and Agent-based Engineering are available for download.

Some of the hot topics seems to be Web services composition. Planning and Workflows are among preferred techniques used to resolve the composition issue.
